| Maltodextrin Sport is an energy supplement designed for athletes and containing pure maltodextrin DE (Dextrose Equivalent) 19. Maltodextrin, a high-glycemic index carbohydrate, is formed by long glucose chains. Its main application is as an energy supplement during high intensity phases of endurance activities and during recovery. Maltodextrin has very low sweetness and very low osmolarity (which means that the resulting drink is easily digestible, promotes gastric emptying and reduces onset of G.I. tract problems during performance). This is why maltodextrin is ideal in athletes that may have some problems in tolerating energy-rich solutions. Maltodextrin provides immediate benefit and can be added to other supplements. In the “muscle compartment”, association with proteins, creatine and amino acids is recommended since metabolism of these molecules is promoted when they are taken together with high-glycemic index carbohydrates. |
